Flip the script on scope stretch

At The Gap, we call it scope stretch, not scope creep. When firms go beyond their agreed services, it’s not something that sneaks in unnoticed. It’s a deliberate, generous choice that deserves to be recognised, priced, and managed.

In our 2025 Scope Stretch Survey, 120 firms across New Zealand, Australia and the UK shared how they handle going beyond scope. Many still see it as just part of the job.
